Purple-rumped sunbird

A distant relative of the Humming-bird and and Honey-eater by species, feeds mostly on the nectar, taking the advantage of the curved bill to puncture the base of the nectar-bearing-flowers.. Also feeds on fruits and occasionally on insects.
Live in a self-built hanging pouch nest, made of cobwebs, lichen and tiny plant material..
