Owlet, commonly know as Owl is a common resident of open habitats and adapted to the city environments. Roost on tree hollows or cavities in the rocks and nest in the tree holes.
Its platter includes small insects and sometimes molluscs, toads and rodents..

Don't know why Owlets with their loud calling are believed to be associated with the bad omen, though being the Vaahan of Goddess Lakshmi as per the Hindu Mythology..
